Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
How to Play Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
Pre-release guide. Facts will be rechecked after the November 3, 2026 launch.
You control one giant monster in a city that wants to become dust. The win condition depends on mode: deplete a health bar, rack a melee score, or flatten enough real estate. Everything else is timing. This page is the first hour. It assumes the control layout on a pad.
Move, then hit
Walk with the left stick. Hold the duck/run trigger while moving to sprint. Standing still plus that trigger is a crouch. Jump with the shoulder; flyers keep holding. Punch is your jab. Kick is the other jab. Fierce is the heavy that gets you punished if you throw it from downtown. Block is the reason veterans beat mashers. You cannot block forever, and sweeps still clip a shield. Practice walking in a square while blocking so the camera does not dump you off a pier in San Francisco.
Projectiles are a resource
Tap the projectile button for a fireball, spike, or disc. Hold it to charge the signature beam. The energy bar is not decorative. Empty it and you are a wrestler. Right stick aims the head so a crouching Megalon does not eat a breath meant for Ghidorah. In the original, holding jump while beaming could track a flyer. If that assist survives, use it; if not, aim yourself. Gunner builds live here. Everyone else should treat beams as punctuation.
Grab the monster, grab the city
The grab chord (punch plus kick) is how throws happen. A highlighted building is a second grab target. Pick it up, turn, throw. That is the toy the trailers sell and it is also a real combo ender. Do not grab when you should block. Rage roar is punch plus fierce while the red meter is full; it is a round swing, not a movement option. Taunt if you are already winning and you like living dangerously.
- Pick Heisei Godzilla on a day city stage.
- Land ten blocked sequences. Then land five grabs.
- Empty a beam on purpose so you feel the dry bar.
- Throw one building without dropping it on yourself.
- Win one Adventure fight. Then read combat.
UFOs, Mothra, and tanks are covered on the items page. Do not chase every pickup on day one. Chasing is how you walk into a fierce.

FAQ
Is this game a traditional fighting game?
It is an arena brawler. There are no Street Fighter motion inputs. There is spacing, a resource bar, and throws.
Should I play on Easy to learn?
Easy teaches bad offense because the CPU forgives. Medium teaches blocking. Use Easy only if Adventure continues are crushing you.
Keyboard or pad?
Pad. The right stick exists to aim a throat.
How long is a round?
Longer than a Smash stock. Shorten versus to one round in the options if you are playing with friends who have jobs.
