Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Combat Guide
Pre-release guide. Facts will be rechecked after the November 3, 2026 launch.
The fight is not random. Hits are blunt or edged. An energy bar gates beams. A rage bar gates a roar. Color flashes on impact told 2002 players whether a hit was doing real work. IGN’s Orga FAQ is still the cleanest description of those flashes. If the remaster keeps them, learn the colors on day one. If the new UI hides them, listen for the heavier hit-stop instead.
Blunt versus edged
Most of the roster punches in the blunt column. Gigan and Destoroyah bring edged tools that chew people who only practiced Godzilla strings. That is why they sit high on the tier list. A flash that looks “wrong” on your main is the game saying you picked a poor attack for that hide. Switch to grab or beam instead of repeating the same fierce. The matchup chart tags each body.
Energy and rage
Energy recharges in real time unless Hedorah is smogging the field. Tap shots are cheap. Held beams are expensive and obvious. Rage fills as you deal and take damage, then spends on a character roar — Godzilla’s shockwave is the famous one. Roaring into a block is a gift. Roaring into a crowded melee is a round. Never roar as a movement option; it is not a dodge.
Defense that is not just block
- Block highs, sweep the crouch, respect grab chords.
- Jump only when you have a reason. Jump is how gunners lead a target.
- Crouch under some fireballs. Do not crouch under Gigan.
- Run is defense if it exits a beam lane.
When the army joins, you either earned it through Destruction or you walked into someone else’s aggro. Block projectiles from tanks the way you block kaiju fireballs. The items page covers Mothra as a temporary extra attacker, not as a combo theory.

FAQ
Do I need to lab frame data?
No published frame data exists. Lab the feel: which fierce is unsafe, which grab beats a mash. That is enough for this engine.
What do the hit flashes mean?
In 2002, yellow/blue/red flashes signaled effectiveness tied to blunt and edged properties. Watch the remaster HUD; Pipeworks rebuilt it and may recode the colors.
Is there a parry?
No Street Fighter parry. Block, grab, or leave.
Does rage carry between Adventure fights?
Treat each fight as a reset unless a tooltip says the bar persists. The original felt like a reset.
