Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Roster
Pre-release guide. Facts will be rechecked after the November 3, 2026 launch.
Twelve kaiju return. That number matches the original Xbox release, not the eleven-monster GameCube cart. The important swaps: Godzilla 90’s is labeled Heisei Godzilla in current UI talk, and Heisei Mechagodzilla 2 is gone. Showa Mechagodzilla — the silver Shogun with the rainbow eyes from Terror of Mechagodzilla — takes that slot. Kiryu remains the twelfth fighter. Orga is still the late unlock wall. If you only remember GameCube, the extra body in the tier list is Kiryu.

How the remaster treats unlocks
Pipeworks dropped the forced Adventure order. You earn currency in every mode and buy kaiju, stages, and gallery stills in any sequence. That is the single biggest quality-of-life change. The table above is history, not a shopping list. Use it only if you want to understand why veterans still talk about “beating Adventure as Anguirus for Gigan.” The live path is the unlock guide plus the tracker.
Film identity versus moveset identity
Heisei Godzilla is the all-rounder: atomic breath, shockwave, reliable grab game. Godzilla 2000 hits harder in the original files and plays like a meaner cousin, not a palette swap. Anguirus is the carapace tank who wants to be inside a punch range other monsters regret. Megalon drills and hops like a beetle striker. Gigan and Destoroyah are the edged pair — yellow versus red flashes in the 2002 HUD told you when a buzzsaw connected. King Ghidorah and Mecha-King Ghidorah own the sky and the gravity beams. Rodan is the true flyer. Showa Mechagodzilla and Kiryu both gun; the trailer uses Heisei Mechagodzilla roars on the Showa body, a sound mismatch Wikizilla already flagged. Orga steals projectiles if you remember the Xbox FAQ. Pair this roster with builds rather than copying a Smash-style main.
Who is missing
Mothra is a summon, not a fighter. Hedorah is a stage hazard. SpaceGodzilla, Megaguirus, Titanosaurus, Battra, and Monsterverse designs are not in this product. If the remaster sells, Atari will hear the Save the Earth requests. Until then, pick from twelve. The stages still include military, UFOs, and throwable landmarks, so the roster is smaller than Unleashed but the toys around them are the point.

FAQ
Is Legendary Godzilla in the remaster?
No. The roster is the 2002 set with a Showa Mechagodzilla model swap. Monsterverse skins have not been announced.
Why does Mechagodzilla look different?
The original Western GameCube used Heisei Mechagodzilla 2. The remaster uses Showa Mechagodzilla. Kiryu, the Millennium mech, is still playable as the twelfth fighter.
Are the three starters still free?
The 2002 build opened with Heisei Godzilla, Anguirus, and Megalon. The remaster’s currency shop may still gift those three. Until launch, assume at least one Godzilla is playable on a new file.
Where should I spend first currency?
Gigan or Godzilla 2000 if you want a different feel from the starters. King Ghidorah if you like air control. Check the tier list before you impulse-buy Orga.
