Pre-orders opened with the June 6, 2026 announcement. You are not buying a mystery SKU. Digital is $29.99 on every listed storefront. Physical PlayStation 5 is $29.99. Physical Nintendo Switch 2 is $39.99 and ships on the game card, not as a Game-Key Card. Xbox Series and Steam remain digital. If you only want to play on November 3, a wishlist is enough. If you collect sleeves, the release date page and this list are the same product described two ways.

Physical retailers

United States shelf copies showed up at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop within days of the trailer. IGN’s pre-order roundup on June 10 listed those three at the announced prices. Canadian shops such as Video Games Plus and PNP Games posted CAD conversions the same weekend — roughly $40 CAD for PS5 and $55 CAD for Switch 2. Atari’s own store also takes physical PS5 and Switch 2 orders. Specialist shops (Loot Box Gaming, VGP) were useful when big-box pages lagged, not because they have a different game.

What you are actually paying for

The disc and the cart contain the same twelve kaiju and eight stages as Steam. You are not buying a roster DLC or a steelbook by default. E.J. Su’s key art on the PS5 sleeve is the collectible: Heisei Godzilla versus Showa Mechagodzilla. Switch 2 costs more because Nintendo’s physical pipeline prices the card, not because Pipeworks shipped a different build. If a listing says “code in box” for Switch 2, walk away — every reputable feed so far says game-on-cart.

Xbox and PC players should not hunt a disc that has not been solicited. Wikizilla and Atari copy still treat those platforms as digital-only. That can change; it has not. Cross-save between a PS5 disc and Steam is not promised. Buy the platform you will actually sit in front of. If online is the only reason you are pre-ordering, read multiplayer first — ranked rules and cross-play are still unpublished.

When to wait

1. If you have never played the 2002 engine, block October 15 and spend a night on the Steam trial.
2. If you want the 2002 versus remaster argument in writing, read that page before you pay for nostalgia.
3. If you only care about extra per-kaiju campaigns, know that press lists them as a feature, not as a measured hour count.
4. If $10 of plastic matters, digital on Switch 2 is the cheaper path if Nintendo posts it at $29.99. Physical is $39.99.

Regional taxes sit on top of the US numbers. European and Japanese storefronts will convert; they will not add kaiju. Steam interface languages already match this wiki: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese. English has full voice.
