Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Tier List
Pre-release guide. Facts will be rechecked after the November 3, 2026 launch.
There is no ranked ladder yet. This list is a 2002-informed projection for the remaster, not a patch bible. Pipeworks kept the engine’s blunt and edged distinction, energy beams, rage, and building throws. Until online data exists, treat S as “wins messy foursomes,” not as an infinite. Revisit after the Steam demo and the online launch.
| Tier | Kaiju | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Gigan, Destoroyah, Heisei Godzilla | Edged pressure plus the most complete toolkit |
| A | Godzilla 2000, King Ghidorah, Kiryu | Burst, air control, beam cover |
| B | Mecha-King Ghidorah, Showa Mechagodzilla, Anguirus | Strong but linear |
| C | Rodan, Megalon, Orga | Specialists who fold if the match leaves their script |
S tier
Gigan’s hooks and buzzsaw punish people who only know how to mash punch. Destoroyah occupies the same edged column with more mass. Heisei Godzilla stays S because nothing in the cast out-fundamentals a clean breath, grab, and shockwave player. If you can only learn one body before November 3, learn him. Details sit in builds and combat.
A and B
Godzilla 2000 is the “meaner Godzilla” and wins if you like committing to pressure. King Ghidorah dominates wide stages because three heads and flight ignore rubble that traps Anguirus. Kiryu’s beam cover is why Xbox veterans still swear by the extra mech. Mecha-King Ghidorah is the control version of Ghidorah — safer, slower, easier to timeout. Showa Mechagodzilla guns people who forget to run. Anguirus is a local-multiplayer menace and a worse online pick if the camera favors flyers on the new large maps.
C tier is not unplayable
Rodan is a nightmare in Destruction if you never land, and a snack if someone learns to anti-air with a held beam. Megalon is a starter for a reason: drills are honest, not broken. Orga’s absorb is a skill check. Bigger arenas help Ghidorah more than Orga. If you main a C kaiju, lean on UFO drops and stage hazards instead of forcing a fair punch war. The matchup chart marks air versus ground so you stop taking Rodan to Monster Island lava for fun.
How we will update this
After launch this page should track win rates if a community sheet appears, not vibes. For now the list exists so you do not spend currency on a “cool but trapped” body during week one. Pair it with the roster biographies and the unlock order advice.

FAQ
Is this an official tier list?
No. Atari has not published one. This is a fan ranking grounded in 2002 framed data and remaster stage size.
Will online change the list?
Yes. Lag rewards disjointed beams and hurts precise grabs. Gunner mechs may rise. Grapplers may fall.
Why is Orga low?
Absorb is excellent against reckless zoners and poor against patients who stop throwing projectiles. Large maps give patients more room.
Should beginners ignore the list?
Beginners should start with Heisei Godzilla regardless of tier. The S row is a destination, not a shopping cart.
