Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
How to Unlock Monsters in Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
Pre-release guide. Facts will be rechecked after the November 3, 2026 launch.
The remaster’s unlock system is a wallet. Play any mode, earn currency, buy kaiju, stages, and gallery stills in whatever order you want. That sentence is the patch. The 2002 game forced you through a character-specific Adventure chain that locked Orga behind almost everything else. Pipeworks replaced the chain because it was the number one complaint from people who just wanted Gigan.
How you should spend currency
- Buy a second playstyle, not a third Godzilla. Gigan or King Ghidorah first.
- Buy a stage you actually like for versus. Tokyo night is not mandatory.
- Buy gallery last unless you collect stills.
- Tick purchases in the unlock tracker.
Official copy also promises extra single-player campaigns for each kaiju. That likely means you can run Adventure as a monster you bought rather than one you unlocked through a ritual. If a campaign still hides a bonus, it will be a skin or a still, not a fighter the shop already sells. Compare notes with the Adventure walkthrough.
Original 2002 chain, for veterans
| Kaiju | Old unlock |
|---|---|
| Heisei Godzilla / Anguirus / Megalon | Start |
| Godzilla 2000 | Adventure as Heisei Godzilla |
| Gigan | Adventure as Anguirus |
| King Ghidorah | Adventure as Megalon |
| Destoroyah | Adventure as Godzilla 2000 |
| Rodan | Adventure as Gigan |
| Mecha-King Ghidorah | Adventure as King Ghidorah |
| Mechagodzilla | Late chain, version-specific |
| Orga | All others, then Adventure as Godzilla 2000 |
Do not replay that order unless you are doing a challenge run. The remaster’s entire pitch is that you can skip it. If a streamer tells you Orga still needs a full roster clear, check whether they are playing the 2002 disc in Dolphin.

FAQ
Can I unlock everything without Adventure?
That is the promise. Currency from versus, melee, destruction, and survival should all count. We will confirm rates after launch.
Are there secret monsters?
Twelve is the stated count. Hedorah and Mothra are not secret fighters.
Do I need codes?
No. See the codes page. Old six-digit strings are museum pieces.
What about stages?
Same wallet. You should not have to beat Adventure as Rodan just to see London.
