Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered

Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Controls

Pre-release guide. Facts will be rechecked after the November 3, 2026 launch.

Pipeworks has not shipped a final public command list for the remaster. The table below is the 2002 scheme mapped onto modern pads the way every hands-on described it: the same six attacks, the same hold-to-beam, the same grab chord. Summer Game Fest players were handed a controller and recognized the game immediately. If a November patch swaps two face buttons, this page will move. Until then, learn the verbs, not the silk-screen.

The verbs that actually matter

Tap projectile is a fireball or spike. Hold the same button to charge the signature beam. Jump becomes flight on Rodan and the Ghidorahs. Duck is invulnerable to some highs and useless against sweeps. Run is the only way Gigan closes a San Francisco street. Grab plus a face button throws; buildings that light up can be picked up the same way. Rage roar spends the red bar on a character-specific blowout. Block eats everything except those sweeps. Details of when to hold versus tap live in how to play and combat.

PC players

Steam recommends a controller. Keyboard will work for menus and a clumsy Godzilla, then fall apart when you need to aim a breath at a crouching Megalon. If you insist on keys, bind beam to a holdable shoulder substitute, not a tiny letter you will fatigue. Test everything in the October 15 demo. Full controller support is already checked on the store page.

Right stick aims the head. That UFO will freeze you if you ignore it.

Haptics and cameras

Native haptics are a listed remaster feature. Expect rumble on beam charge, building collapse, and rage. The original C-stick both aimed and nudged the camera; modern right sticks will likely split that. If the camera hides a flyer, that is a matchup problem as much as a hardware problem. Four-player local still has to share one view, which is why expanded arenas in the remaster matter.

FAQ

Are these the final remaster binds?

Not confirmed in a manual. They are the 2002 verbs placed on the obvious modern face buttons. Always check in-game settings on day one.

Can I remap on PC?

Steam Input should allow it. In-game remaps have not been shown. Assume Steam’s overlay at minimum.

How do I fly?

Hold jump on monsters that can fly. Rodan, King Ghidorah, and Mecha-King Ghidorah are the obvious set. Godzilla cannot hover.

Why is grab two buttons?

That is the original chord. It stops accidental throws while you mash punch and kick. Do not put grab on a single bumper unless you like tossing allies in team battle.
